While this is a spoiler friendly subreddit, I'm going to flag this as a spoiler post and warn anyone that doesn't want to know what happens in the film to turn back now. If this is really the end of the Skywalker saga, then I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to the worlds most beloved series. I’m tired of pretending (and hearing) that it doesn’t. The allotted time for spoilers is 3 weeks from release; on January 10th nothing from The Rise of Skywalker will be The Rise of Skywalker is a good film, worthy of the Star Wars name. Of course there is epic action to savour and surprises and spoilers to spill, but given the long, long build-up, some of the saga’s big revelations and developments might be a little unsatisfying on reflection. I haven't seen Rise of Skywalker yet (seeing it tonight) but I always appreciated that LoK focused on its new characters and their stories.
