I'm looking for a really nice ES-335 copy in the $500-700US range. The air inside the hollow wings might dampen the spank and snap you get from a solid guitar, but it’s that exact quality that gave the 335 its own voice. However I was not looking to spend that much money so my question is: What are, in your opinion, some good Gibson ES-335 alternatives (apart from the obvious Epiphone inspired by Gibson models) for a more reasonable price? And the new Epiphone ES-335 (inspired by Gibson) will be the best choice if you want a rather accurate Gibson-copy). I tried a few Gibson ES-335 in a store and really enjoyed how they played/sounded. From BB King to the Smiths, the sound that resonates from your ES-335 alternative is up to you. I can't afford a Gibson version for now so I'm for alternatives. So what are your recommendation?
